On July 3, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Nazar Agakhanov, Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, co-chaired The ninth meeting of the China-Turkmenistan Sub-committee on Trade and Economic cooperation by video conference.
Ling Ji noted that during the second China-Central Asia Summit, President Xi Jinping and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow reached important consensus on deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. China stands ready to work with Turkmenistan to fully implement the consensus of the two heads of state, promote steady growth in bilateral trade, expand cooperation in non-resource sectors, enhance cross-border connectivity, and strengthen collaboration under the China-Central Asia mechanism. China firmly supports Turkmenistan’s accession to the WTO and is committed to jointly upholding free trade and the multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core.
Nazar Agakhanov stated that in recent years, bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries have maintained positive and stable momentum. Turkmenistan is ready to comprehensively expand cooperation with China on all fronts, advance priority economic projects, and tap into the potential of transit transport .
