On July 29, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Mikhail Yurin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the 20th meeting of the China-Russia Permanent Working Group on Forest Resources Exploitation and Utilization in Wuhan.
The Chinese side noted that China and Russia have significant potential and strong complementarity in the development and utilization of forest resources. China stands ready to work with Russia to further enhance communication on trade and investment policies in the forest industry, deepen cooperation along related industrial and supply chains, and promote green and low-carbon transformation.
The Russian side stated that China is a major export market for Russian forest products. Russia welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in forest product processing in Russia, and is willing to import Chinese forestry harvesting and processing equipment and technologies, as well as carry out cooperation on low-carbon and environmentally friendly forest development.
