On September 9, during the 25th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Ling Ji attended the Thematic Session on B&R Investment Cooperation and delivered a speech. The event was also attended by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Wu Bin, Mayor of Xiamen, Fujian Province, and Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China.
Ling Ji said that against the backdrop of a continuous global decline in foreign direct investment, China remains committed to high-standard opening up, with its outbound investment developing steadily and healthily. The investment stock in BRI partner countries has reached USD 370 billion. China’s financing cooperation with these countries has steadily expanded, continuously improving an open, diversified, and green investment and financing system. This system has increased employment and tax revenues for host countries, supported their economic and social development, and brought certainty to global investment.
Shahin Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan will actively promote connectivity and industrial cooperation under the BRI framework, to jointly foster sustainable trade and supply chain development.
Sun Chanthol said that the Belt and Road Initiative is the “lifeline” of Cambodia’s economic and social development, and Cambodia’s development practices are a vivid testament to the achievements of the initiative.
The event was hosted by the Export-Import Bank of China, and the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as BRI cooperation and global investment cooperation.
