“Invest in China · 2024” Industrial Transfer to Border Regions and Port Areas and State-level Economic and Technological Development Zones Cooperation Conference Held in Kunming

On August 27, “Invest in China · 2024” Industrial Transfer to Border Regions and Port Areas and State-level Economic and Technological Development Zones Cooperation Conference was held in Kunming. The Governor of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Ling Ji, and Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Tan Pichuang attended and delivered speeches.

Ling Ji stated that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China emphasized optimizing the layout for regional opening up, leveraging the strengths of areas along the coasts, borders, rivers and major transportation routes, optimizing the division of functions for opening up among different regions in order to develop a diverse array of pacesetters for opening up. The Ministry of Commerce will work together with Yunnan and Guangxi provinces (autonomous regions) to further leverage the geographical advantages of state-level economic and technological development zones and border (cross-border) economic cooperation zones in border region and port areas, strengthen cooperation and joint construction of open platforms between eastern and western regions, and promote orderly industrial transfer and acceptance.

Representatives from state-level economic and technological development zones and border (cross-border) economic cooperation zones of Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as representatives from state-level economic development zones in central and eastern regions, business associations, and foreign enterprises participated in the conference. Yunnan and Guangxi made investment promotions centered around the development of open industrial parks and zones and industrial acceptance. Some state-level economic and technological development zones and border (cross-border) economic cooperation zones in these two provinces (autonomous regions) signed pairing agreements with state-level economic and technological development zones in eastern regions such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Fujian.
