Eighth sub-committee meeting on economic and trade cooperation of China-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee held in Beijing

On February 28, Ling Ji, Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Sub-committee of China-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee in Beijing.

Ling said under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Uzbekistan economic and trade cooperation has maintained a sound momentum of development in recent years. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, push forward the implementation of the plan for economic, trade and investment cooperation, and support Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization at an early date. It is hoped that the two sides will carry out various forms of investment and financing cooperation, deepen cooperation on new energy vehicles, accelerate the development of digital trade, cross-border e-commerce and other new forms of business, support practical cooperation at the local level, and constantly enrich China-Central Asia commercial cooperation.

Kudratov said Uzbekistan attaches great important to economic and trade cooperation with China, and hopes to further expand exports to China and improve trade facilitation. Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest in Uzbekistan. He thanked China for supporting Uzbekistan’s application to join the World Trade Organization and expressed willingness to actively promote China-Central Asia business cooperation.

After the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the meeting.
