MOFCOM holds “Invest in China” roundtable meeting for foreign investment promotion agencies

On June 1, the Ministry of Commerce held the “Invest in China” roundtable meeting for foreign investment promotion agencies during the 13th Central China Investment and Trade Exposition (Expo Central China). Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China Trade Representative, chaired the roundtable meeting. Li Dianxun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the meeting. More than 100 representatives of investment promotion agencies, business associations, embassies and consulates in China and foreign enterprises from 32 countries and regions including Canada, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States participated in the meeting.

Ling said that the Chinese government is committed to further opening up, making the business environment still better, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of foreign-invested enterprises with real actions. Investment promotion agencies of all countries are welcome to actively participate in the “Invest in China” events to bring more foreign enterprises and investors to China. China will strongly support foreign investment promotion agencies in engaging in investment promotion activities in China and contributing to enhancing investment in China.

The foreign representatives at the meeting unanimously recognized the achievements made by the Chinese government in improving the business environment and hoped to have regular dialogue and exchanges with the competent commerce authorities and build a communication platform between the government and businesses.
