Vice Minister Ling Ji meets with Kathryn Wengel, Executive Vice President of Johnson & Johnson

On January 25, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, met with Kathryn Wengel, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Operations and Risk Officer for Johnson & Johnson. The two exchanged views on Johnson & Johnson’s development in China, improving foreign investment environment, and among others.

Ling said the Chinese government is committed to promoting high-level opening up, fostering a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment and providing premium services for foreign-invested enterprises. The pharmaceutical industry is a key area for China to attract foreign investment. The Chinese government encourages foreign investment projects in the biomedical field to accelerate their implementation under the premise of complying with relevant laws and regulations. It is hoped that Johnson & Johnson will continue to stand committed to the Chinese market and share development opportunities.

Wengel said China is one of the fastest growing markets in Johnson & Johnson’s global business, as well as a strategic market for global innovation. Johnson & Johnson is willing to continue to expand investment in China, promote research and development and innovation in the field of health care, and provide better services for Chinese consumers.
